OUR LOGO

We're trying to keep things local, so while researching rockets to inspire our logo, Seattle homeboy Jeff Bezos/Blue Origin's innovative New Shepard space vehicle's boomerang-esque rocket soared to the top of our list!  You can view a video of its recent successful return to Earth here.

 

OUR NAME

Greenwood Blasts Off TM, is focussed on the hopeful longterm rippling affects of the real-life incident that inspired our web portal's creation.  While acknowledging that there were numerous businesses and individuals negatively affected, we also celebrate the incredibly improbable providence that there were no fatal casualties, and the countless positive personal + professional community building connections that have been created in the Greenwood community as a result.  

 

Youth/teens need opportunities to engage, celebrate and contribute their talents + imaginations + energy toward this positive rippling effect rebuilding our resilient community.  With concerted effort and time, we hope Greenwood's collective memory and response will include youth/teens in cultivating our community's identity and pride going forward.

AFFECTED BUSINESSES + INDIVIDUALS

If you are interested in supporting affected individuals + businesses, or learning more about the community action plan in the works, visit PNA's Greenwood relief efforts page.  Greenwood Blasts Off TM, does not receive donations to assist Greenwood businesses or individuals.  Our focus is on youth/teen services joining forces to encourage, empower, and equip Greenwood youth/teens to engage and contribute their positive energy and creativity, eg: music performances, artistic expression, and thoughts toward Greenwood's relief, re-envisioning, and rebuilding efforts.
